Hermosa Pie & Cake Co.
..Hello every one. I first opened Hermosa Pie in 2013. 12 years later, three and a half tons of butter later we are closing our doors and moving on to more exciting and spiritually rewarding endeavors. There is no easy way to say goodbye, our friendships we have developed with all of you will last us through our lives. Will and I have been discussing the future for the last year and have decided to continue along the lines of our personal interests and hobbies. I will be returning to academia to pursue my PhD in higher mathematics and Will is going to move forward in minerology and gemology studies and collecting. living, playing and working in Hermosa has been amazing. The residents of the South Bay are caring and a delight. I want to take a moment to Thank our friends at the Hermosa P.D. The Lifegaurd, the city and City management, Suja Lowenthal our city manager and everyone that works with her are committed to preserving a healthy sustainable beach, ecosystem and a safe happy environment for families. what an extraordinary thing to work alongside these amazing individuals, what a pleasure. But no pleasure was greater, being the only all natural pie shop in the South bay. we watched all the corporations try to open business selling pies, seducing patron with slick packaging and phoney baloney statements about "ethos and caring" yup, we watched 11 phoney balony pie shops open and close. people can't be fooled anymore. They know now about the horrible ingredients that cause birth defects when pregnant moms eat corporate garbage. We stood by our ethics and rode out the storm. In this I can count my many blessings, that by being frank and honest about how things like ADHD are food borne disorders caused generationally by bad food habits starting with our grand parents. The beauty in watching our friends and neighbors from all over California reverse this vicious cycle by being conscientious about healthy eating during and after pregnancy. For all of those young and older couples who paid attention and stuck it out, we adore you. The Mamma Earth is under threat of losing all of its rain forest, old growth redwood trees and animal diversity, it wasn't just about helping couples produce healthy smarter progeny, but to produce conscious and caring earth warriors who were raised on real food. you are responsible for the outcome of humanities future, you. Not some group of state sponsored watchdog or Federal program. These are all scam campaigns. grass roots means your family dinner time. Actively question authorities, this world belongs to the animals and creatures, plants and trees. WE are the care takers. Please think about supporting local Mom and Pop businesses more. if you don't support them, you lose them. Think about all of your children's nutritional and developmental needs being met by WALMART or COSTCO. is that really the future you want? Our last day baking is this Sunday April 20th 2025. I am open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. There is an Amazing young man stepping up to take over, his name is Michael, he's a beautiful soul with an extensive culinary background and he loves to BAKE!!! Please show Michael the same love and support you have shown my son and I over these many years, you will love him, I know it. P.S, when you visit Michael at 133 Hermosa Ave. make mention the humming bird feeder, the little birds need our love too. Again, thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for the years of well wishes, holiday cheer and magic. what a beautiful wonderful experience to serve all of you.
